An award winning compilation of short Quicktime videos.  Each of these 10 videos describes a soil order from the Canadian System of Soil Classification and discusses topics such as texture, pedological processes and nutrients associated with each profile.

Virtual Soils Processes Project - Developed by soil scientists in BC

A self-guided learning site or teaching tool that serves as an introduction to soil forming factors and their associated processes. Each featured soil order is accompanied by a video and case study videos serve as a vital link between soil forming processes and their management issues

Soil Parent Material and Landscapes - Videos developed by Virtual Soil Science of BC Consortium

This website illustrates processes of soil parent material and landscape development. Video footage was obtained in the Rocky Mountains and southern interior of British Columbia to enable students to visualize similar processes that occurred in the past. The website also allows for an exploration of impacts of climate change on glacier retreats.
